Cereal Names New Spokesperson

The cereal business can be a very competitive world. It’s not only about what tastes good, but what’s also healthy and appealing to people. Life cereal is taking a gamble and betting that Angela Lansbury will help change their image and sell their cereal.

“We’ve done what we can to appeal to children,” said general manager Benjamin Hicks. “After years and years and years of children on the boxes and Mikey commercials, it’s time to find our adult audience too.”

Lansbury has just the right image the company is looking for.

“Angela is wholesome in that spunky grandma kind of way,” Hicks said. “We still want people to think our cereal is fun to eat, but that it’s good enough for older people as well.”

Life realizes that most older people aren’t looking at cereal as fun and tasty anymore. It’s all about nutrition.

“But they can have both with Life,” Hicks said. “Angela Lansbury is perfect to give that image. Just look at the work she did with ‘Murder She Wrote’ and her voice work on cartoons and such. She’s an older woman who continues to be active and have fun with life.”

It’s also her work with cartoons that helped land her the spokesperson job with Life cereal.

“Even though we’re leaning in a more adult direction, kids are going to recognize her voice from the movies they’ve seen,” Hicks said. “For them it’ll be like saying, ‘even cool adults like a kid’s cereal too,’ but for the adults they’ll be hearing ‘a tasty kid’s cereal can be good for adults too.’”

Commercials are currently in production for Life Cereals new ad campaign featuring Lansbury. The commercials and the new boxes featuring her picture will be revealed to the public in June.
