If You Can’t Beet ‘Em …

My husband loves beets – not likes, loves. He will stock up on cans of them when we come across them at the grocery store, and when the shelves seem to be devoid of canned beets, he’ll resort to the pickled kind in a jar.
Those are most convenient for him because he doesn’t have to do anything to cook them. I don’t like beets, so I don’t generally go out of my way to cook fresh beets for meals. Howeer, I have made the effort to try to find ways I’ll like them because he does love them so much.

My husband loves cooking. For him, it’s stress-relief. He likes to choose a food, such as his latest culinary challenge, biscotti, and fiddle with the recipe until something I thought I’d only ever get from Starbuck’s emerges from the oven in gastronomic perfection.
