Earth Strikes Back

This week there were going green messages everywhere I looked. April 22nd was Earth Day and many places were celebrating all week long with their Earth friendly promotions.
Generally I’m all for trying to decrease my carbon footprint. I use reusable shopping bags, and I was even happy to get another one for free when I got one as an Earth Day promotion at a store on Thursday. At least I assume it was an Earth Day promotion since that particular computer store doesn’t usually give out reusable, cloth bags, but it could also have been a valued customer gift since I’ve been there a lot to get computer components for Troy’s computer the last few months.

Th*ink*ing Green
Posted by Cynical Sarah on April 9, 2010
Last time I bought ink for our printer, it wasn’t more than a few months and I started to get low-ink warnings every time I tried to print something. I knew it had to be some sort of error since I don’t actually use the printer very often, so I ignored it.
I’ve been ignoring it for probably four months now. I did buy a new cartridge a couple weeks ago because I needed to print some resumes, but I still haven’t actually put the new cartridge in. I figure, it’s not out until I actually get a page that looks like the ink is low instead of the computer telling me it’s low.

This week President Barack Obama announced his administrations “comprehensive strategy for energy security.” Part of the plan: expanding oil and natural gas development and exploration of the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf.
If it had been April 1, I would have assumed the announcement was part of some elaborate April Fools joke.
