5. China issues ‘one dog’ policy in Beijing

First it was one child, now it’s one dog. There seem to be quite the population issues over there in China. This over- population is causing a rabies hazard, but wouldn’t it make more sense to make sure people vaccinate their pets rather than limiting them so severely. Then again we are talking about a country that has no problem limiting its people’s personal freedoms.

4. Deer runs through Target store in Iowa

There are too many “target” references to go into about a deer during the fall hunting season. At least this young buck had good taste and knew where to find a safe haven with the best quality merchandise for the lowest prices. Even by instinct, it recognizes a good place for bargains.

3. Synagogue pays to tint windows at YMCA to avoid looking at scantily clad women working out

Problem: The rabbi of the synagogue across the street from the YMCA thinks women working out constitutes public nudity. Solution: The synagogue pays to have the YMCA’s windows tinted. Wouldn’t the more obvious solution have been to tint the synagogues windows? Amazing how women have to workout in the dimmed light just because young Jewish boys may be tainted by the sight.

2. South Carolina governor turned away from polling place

Apparently being the governor isn’t good enough ID to be able to vote in South Carolina. They take their voting laws seriously and it doesn’t matter who you are; if you don’t have your voter registration card, you’ll be turned away and have to find it in order to vote.

1. Dead woman elected to county commission in South Dakota

Of all the election results that showed how fed up people are with the Republican party, this one has to cut the deepest. The incumbent Republican candidate in a predominantly Republican state was defeated by a person people knew was dead and still voted for. It wasn’t even what you could call a close race – 100 votes to 64.
