What Would Dannielynn Smith Say? (18 years from now)

(We ask celebrities the questions we’d all like to ask, and provides the answers we all wish we’d get to hear.)
Q. What was it like growing up as Anna Nicole’s daughter?
A. I lived a very sheltered life away from the public. It wasn’t until I was in second grade that someone mentioned my mom, and I started to hear stories about her and her life. When I was little it was alright. People thought it was cool I was related to a celebrity. When I got older, though, I got teased a lot.
Q. What kind of teasing?
A. There was just a lot about the reality show she did and how it took a test to figure out who my dad is. People can be very cruel. My mom had a reputation, but my dad just reminded me that she loved her children very much and wanted the best for them and that’s all that matters. Plus, just because I’m her daughter doesn’t mean I’m going to end up like her.
Q. Was it through teasing that you ended up learning the most about your mom?
A. Not really actually. My dad had told me some about her – all the good stuff. When people at school started talking about my “infamous” mom, that’s when I started doing some digging on my own on the Internet to see what was out there about her. Of course there’s a lot of negative stuff out there about her, and her fame wasn’t always for good things, but I also had all the good stuff my dad had told me to help balance it out. I think it was good to eventually see the good and the bad to get a full picture of my mom as a model and tabloid star.
Q. Do you have any aspirations to follow in her modeling footsteps?
A. I think I prefer to use my brains instead of looks to get ahead. I think she did whatever she could to make a life for herself. My mom didn’t have a lot to start out with. Her looks were all she had without someone to help pay for college and whatnot. I’m lucky that I had three men who claimed to be my father and they were all well off. The money I inherited from my mother also helps. I’ll be able to go to college and do something that makes a difference.
Q. Any idea what that might be yet?
A. I’m thinking about a business degree and perhaps getting involved with nonprofit work in the future. Some of the good things my mom did was to get involved in charity work and things she believed in like helping out People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. I would love to continue some of the good work she did, and at the same time, I’d like to make a good name for myself in the world outside of her shadow.
