What Would Ken Say?

(We ask celebrities the questions we’d all like to ask, and provides the answers we all wish we’d get to hear.)
Q. Some of the big celebrity break-ups in the few years included your break-up with Barbie. How has life been since then?
A. Barbie is a great girl, but she had become too career oriented for me these last few years. She went from a fun-loving, model type to trying out careers like doctor, lawyer, teacher and more. I missed the 50s sock hop Barbie and rock star Barbie that was so much more easy going. Now that we’re not together, I feel like I’ve got more room to breathe again. There isn’t so much pressure to live up to her new career standards. I never felt good enough for her and had become arm candy for her instead of a partner.
Q. Was her new career outlook a big part of the break-up?
A. I wouldn’t say a big part, but it was certainly one of the factors that had built up over the years. She just had less and less time for us while she was busy trying to do so many things with her life.
Q. Do you miss her?
A. Of course I miss her, but really, I’ve missed her for years even before the break-up. It’d definitely hard to be with someone for so many years and have it come to an end. She was a major part of my life.
Q. We haven’t heard much from you since the break-up, but Barbie is as popular as ever. Any thoughts?
A. Well, Barbie was always the one mostly in the spotlight. She’s the one people want to see. She is definitely something special, and I’m just your average plastic man. I’m fine being out of the spotlight more. It leaves me with more time to focus on my surfing career or maybe even look into some modeling jobs.
Q. Any romantic prospects?
A. At first I thought I had lost the best woman for me. Since then I’ve realized there’s a whole new world of doll babes out there. Back in the day, my only other choices were Skipper or those Jem dolls, but since then, there have been a lot more girls added to the toy world. Those Bratz babes will be coming of age soon, and I’ll be waiting.
